Event Description
Union Settlement Assocation is holding a Blood Drive on November 9, 2009 from 9am-2:30pm. This drive is open to the whole community! Donations from Hispanic and Latino communities are especially needed to provide transfusions of rare blood types to patients of diverse backgrounds. Donating blood is literally giving the gift of life. Every two seconds, someone needs blood, and one of three individuals needs a life-saving blood transfusion at some time in his or her lifetime. Blood donations are particularly important to for individuals with cancer, sickle cell anemia, and many other life-threatening diseases.
